Goforth PTA Officer Positions and Descriptions

Nominating Committee 2010

President

Responsibilities and duties include organizing and overseeing the various officers and committees of the PTA. The liaison between the Principal and PTA. Set up meetings and prepare agendas. Preside over all meetings of the association. Attend all CCCC President meetings. Assist all chairs. Sign all contracts with board approval. Sign checks. Appoints parliamentarian and historian with board approval.

Vice Presidents

VP1 (Ways and Means):  aide to the president and preside in the absence of the president. Oversees any fundraising, oversees school store, and signor on bank account.

VP2 (Membership): In charge of Membership. Includes membership drives, promote incentives, post members, mail PTA cards, send membership and dues to Texas PTA.

VP3 (Programs): Coordinates Programs that the PTA presents and finds new programs. Responsibilities include Red Ribbon Week, reflections, fire safety, 5^th grade graduation, and 5^th grade party.

Treasurer

Conduct financial business of Goforth PTA, maintain record keeping, prepare and present financial statement to the Executive Board and General Membership, write checks, deposit money, prepare tax returns. This position requires some bookkeeping/accounting knowledge.

Secretary

Attend all meetings or plan for an alternate. To record minutes of the meetings and prepare written minutes for approval. To know the bylaws. Bind the general body minutes and the executive board minutes in separate permanent record book. Prepare badges for PTA Board Members. Send out correspondence as necessary.
